Therapy name: Nutritional Therapy
Regulatory Body: Nutritional Therapy Council
Efficacy: Hormonal, Neurological and immunological function, dietary and nutritional advice
Overview: A nutritionist looks at diet and lifestyle in order to discover any imbalances.
How it works: Food is necessary to remain healthy and can help us if we are ill by providing us with energy and vital nutrients. We may be allergic to or intolerant of certain foods. This can cause problems such as stomach cramps, vomiting and diarrhoea. If we know which foods are responsible then we can address the problem.
What to expect: The nutritionist will undertake diagnostic tests such as hair samples, allergy testing and gut permeability. They will then use this information to develop a three-month programme. This will focus on eliminating certain foods, increasing intake of other foods and supplements.
Known Contraindications: No known side effects
