How it works: An essential oil is an aromatic substance extracted from a botanical source. Essential oils are readily absorbed through the skin. They have both physiological and psychological effects that combine to promote positive health and wellbeing. There are around 400 essential oils extracted from plants all over the world

What to expect: Essential oils can be applied in a variety of ways, such as baths, inhalations or through massage.

Known Contraindications: When used incorrectly essential oils have the potential to cause toxicity, dermal irritation, skin sensitisation or photo-toxicity.
