Overview: Autogenics is a relaxation technique. It involves a series of attention focussing exercises designed to induce a relaxed state and enable the body to self-heal.
How it works: Autogenics is a training course which teaches a series of simple exercises in body awareness and relaxation. These exercises are designed to switch off the ‘fight or flight’ system of the body and instead switch on the ‘rest, relaxation and recreation’ system.
What to expect: Once learnt these techniques can be used whenever you wish as you don’t require any special clothes or equipment.
Known Contraindications: Not recommended for people with severe mental disorders.
