Overview: Hypnotherapy uses the power of the mind to help heal physical and emotional problems by allowing the patient to discover the underlying emotional and psychological causes.

How it works: Our minds and bodies work together.  When our mind is under stress our body suffers and vice versa.  It has been shown that the mind can be a primary factor in the healing of many diseases,

Research has shown that body chemistry can change when we are in a trance state and we are able to do things that we wouldn’t normally be able to do, for example, hold our hands longer in icy water with no change to the blood cortisol levels.

What to expect: The hypnotherapist will ask you questions about yourself and your problem to try to establish any relevant psychological factors and to assess the appropriate mode of treatment.

The therapist will put you into a hypnotic state by speaking to you in a monotonous voice while you are relaxed in a chair or couch.  The therapist will then try to extract information from your subconscious mind.

Known Contraindications: Hypnosis is not suitable for individuals suffering from dementia, young children, Drug addicts, Anybody evidently under the influence of alcohol, Educationally challenged’ individuals, Anybody with comprehension difficulties
